Whoopsie! It appears that I was supposed to be Day 2 on the 12 Posts of Christmas Blog Hop! I don’t know how it happened but I got my days mixed up. Better late than never, though, right?!
For the first 12 days of December my blogging friends and I will be sharing fun Christmas projects that you can create for under $24! You can check out what everyone has done so far and follow along with what’s to come by checking out the list at the end of the post. Also, we’ll be updating you with each day’s project through social media, so you can follow along that way, too!
I thought I would share my Christmas wreath with you! I had a lot of fun putting it together and I loved that it was an easy and inexpensive project. Another plus is that some of the materials can be used again for different seasons.
Supplies:
- Grapevine wreath
- Poinsettia stems
- Fabric of your choice
- Wooden letter
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Wire cutter or pliers
I started off by cutting the poinsettia stems so that they were about 4 or 5 inches long. I curled the ends under so that once they were stuck into the wreath they wouldn’t slide back out.
I didn’t like the look of the poinsettia anthers (otherwise known as ugly brown pod thingys), so I nipped them off, as well.
To cover where the anthers went, I made some quick fabric rosettes, using this tutorial, and hot glued them in place.
I used the same fabric to sew a 3″ wide wreath hanger.
For a little pop of color, I painted the ‘C’ from my fall wreath red and that was it. See? Easy peasy!
My Christmas porch decor is coming right along but I’ve got more up my sleeve that you won’t want to miss!
